Ladies 2nd Team vs Bishop Auckland

Ladies 2's earn a battling draw away from home!

Ladies 2s played a strong Bishop side this weekend. Bishop started strong, putting the pressure on us early. We managed to keep them out, with a few shots going wide. Once Norton settled into the game, we kept possession and turned the tables. Ava B seen a shot go wide from a long corner.

Bishop showed their quality with a quick break and opened the scoring 1v0. This had Norton determined. New recruit Danni held the middle role well getting the ball wide. Debbie almost equalised from a SC and another SC seen Ava’s effort saved.

Dangerous on attack Bishop put Lucy GK under pressure but her cool and calm head kept them out. Harriet J showed her defensive prowess clearing the ball. Half time 1v0 Bishop.

Ava came out strong and had a SC given. Harriet J was there to send it home 1v1. Turning over possession seen another SC 2 minutes later. Debbie’s experience seen her flick give Norton the 2v1 lead 💪🏼 Despite taking a knock Chloe G kept battling to drive the ball forward.

Lucy GK came out on a 1v1 to deny them a chance. Lucy GK was put under pressure and her and the defensive team worked hard to maintain the lead. With a minute to go a penalty flick was awarded to see a 2v2 draw. The ladies were bitterly disappointed in the result but showed huge commitment, passion and power throughout the game and should be so proud of themselves.

Well done to Danni for her debut performance and the welcome return of Harriet J who was awarded GOTG along with Lucy GK. Both ladies were instrumental so shared the title. DOTD went to Julie C for forgetting her shin pads 🤪
